By now, it should be evident that I love writing. It should also be clear that I have many different interests. As much as I love writing about my varied interests, it's time to start focusing my writing on topics I can monetize. Fear not, I will continue to write about all the compelling and engaging topics, like the Bible, my journey through life, and even some things I haven't touched yet. But I am also keenly aware that I need to find a way to make some money.
So, I'd like your help. My cousin/coach, Mark, and I have been talking about monetizing for a while now. He gave me an excellent idea the other day for how to focus my writing to leverage my extensive technology background. I am going to start writing articles that break down complex technology ideas and issues for the everyday person.
I feel I have a pretty good grasp of technology and could help others with their tech questions and woes. What do I want from you? I'd like you to share any technology questions or issues you are dealing with. You can drop them in the comments or email me. Either way, send them my way.
I will compile a list and start churning out more in-depth articles on the topics I receive. I got a starter list (thanks for the help, Grok) of the most frequently asked questions and common issues. But I really want this to be about what you want in terms of technology.
How about an issue you might be facing that you need some guidance with? It could even be something you read or heard that you'd like clarified. Whatever it is, send it my way, and I'll add it to the list.
Regarding monetization, I have not fully fleshed it out yet. I want to get a couple of articles done and published to see if I am meeting a need. If you like what I publish, I am considering adding a paid tier to offer longer-form articles, tutorials, etc. You can subscribe to get the paid content or not.
I will always offer free content. That will not change. These tech talks won't replace the deeper reflections - those will continue. The paid tier will be for longer-form content that takes me longer to research, write, and edit. There is a process behind all my writing, and the longer-form stuff takes more time and effort. And I feel it will be worth monetizing.
If you have already subscribed to my free newsletter, thank you so much. You'll still get great free content, but you'll also get the opportunity to pay for more content. It's a win-win for both of us. If you're not subscribed yet, I'd love for you to join. It's free, and it's worth your time to subscribe.
Rest assured, these tech talks won't replace the more profound reflections - those will continue. I hope you will consider sending me some topics. I would really appreciate it. Just think, you can be a part of building this newsletter into something extraordinary! Can't wait to hear from you—what tech questions have been bugging you lately?
