When My Brain Rebelled: How Finelo Saved My Focus Today

Today, my brain was revolting against me. I spent most of the day in a distracted state. I tried several different approaches to focus. Do you know what worked? Opening an app on my phone named Finelo.

Finelo is like Duolingo for investing. It has lessons divided up into bite-sized chunks, easy to digest in a few minutes. You can do as many lessons in a day as you want. Most of the time, I do one or two lessons a day. Today, I did nine lessons.

I'm not going to detail Finelo; you can check out the website. I am also not going to enter into a long dissertation about what I learned. At least not today.

The important takeaway is this: when you're feeling distracted, and the items on your to-do list just aren't getting done, it's OK to switch to something else completely different for a while. A simple change of direction can help you get back on track.

It worked for me. Earlier today, writing this article felt seriously at risk. After spending some time in Finelo, I was able to switch gears back to where I wanted to be. And it gave me an article idea to boot!

The next time you find yourself distracted and getting nothing done, take a break, switch gears, and then return to what you were doing. You might be surprised how well this works.

Shout out to Mark, I think he mentioned this to me in one of our coaching sessions.

Have you ever been stuck, not accomplishing anything on your to-do list? How did you handle it? I'd love to hear your story.
